Overview

The Johns Hopkins Teaching Academy’s Teaching Institute is a multi-day, immersive professional development experience designed for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are preparing for university-level teaching roles. The institute equips participants with practical skills, tools, and strategies to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom.

Through interactive sessions, collaborative learning, guidance from experienced Johns Hopkins faculty, and access to a wealth of resources, participants will explore essential topics such as course design, inclusive teaching, active learning, and effective assessment. Equally important, the institute fosters a supportive learning community—bringing together future faculty members from across disciplines to connect, share ideas, and build lasting professional relationships as they prepare for future careers.
